After graduating from university Kirk moved to Louisiana to do an internship with Chi Alpha Campus Ministry. That same year he began his theological studies, becoming a licensed Pastor in 1999. God opened the door for a full-time ministry position as a Chaplain at Louisiana State University where he re-pioneered the Chi Alpha ministry. Kirk and Amy maintained a long distance relationship and were eventually married in Dec. of 1998. They have a little girl named Mercy Claire. She was born March 5, 2001. Their son, Jackson Scott was born July 12, 2004.

The call of God brought them to Berlin at the end of 2002. They pioneered a new student group in Berlin under the banner of Studenten für Christus in 2003 and also began working with a new church plant reaching young people in 2004. They are also the Regional Leaders for their area providing pastoral care to student groups on universities across former East Germany.

Together they have ministered to thousands of students from over fifty different nations. Their ministry is hallmarked by worship, evangelism, cell groups and café ministry. They have a passion for reaching today's generation of students in Germany.
